What is clipping?
And why it works.
Clipping turns one release into many short edits, made and posted by independent editors on their own accounts.
- The source
- Media your team has approved for the campaign. A trailer on its own is enough. Selected pre-release scenes are optional.
- The editors
- Independent creators who already post short-form on their own accounts. They are paid for qualifying posts under the campaign terms.
- The edits
- Each editor picks a moment and cuts it their way: a line, a look, a reveal, a chorus. Every edit is a different way into the same release.
- The campaign
- Amplify writes the brief, which sets what may be used, how it may be edited and captioned, and when it may post. Every clip is checked against that brief before it’s paid, and Amplify reports what was posted.

Why it works
Feeds run on posts.
A release is full of them.
A feed shows more of whatever people watch through. Clipping gives it many clips to try, not one.
An editor posts a clip
From their own account, like any other post.
People watch it through
They finish it, replay it, share it.
The feed shows it to more
More people like the ones who watched.
- More moments
Every moment gets its own edit
- A joke
- A performance
- A chorus
- A reveal
- Every clip reviewed
We check every clip before it’s paid
Amplify inspects each clip against your brief.
- On briefApproved, paid
- Off briefNot paid
- Longer life
Clips stay up after the spend ends
A post keeps finding people after the campaign is over.
Clipping sits alongside the trailer and paid media. It gives the same release more ways in. Compare it with paid social

What is clipping
Common questions
How is a clipping campaign different from ordinary editing?
Ordinary editing produces one finished cut. A clipping campaign produces many different short-form interpretations from the same approved source material, distributed through participating accounts rather than one official post.
How does clipping differ from paid ads?
Paid ads buy placement on a platform. Clipping compensates participating creators to make and distribute short-form content from approved material through real social accounts, creating many distribution paths instead of one fixed placement. People learn to skim past anything that looks like an ad. A clip posts from a real account, so it shows up in the feed like any other post.
Does clipping mean reposting the same video many times?
No. Each editor creates a different interpretation, with different hooks, pacing, moments and angles, from the approved source material.
Do I need to manage each editor myself?
No. When Amplify manages the campaign, we handle the editors, guidelines, review and reporting. The client approves the campaign direction and authorized media.
Is clipping the same as buying views?
No. Clipping is a distribution model. Views and engagement depend on audiences and platforms, and results are not guaranteed.
Are participating creators compensated?
Yes. Clipping compensates participating creators for qualifying work under campaign terms. Platform-native describes the format, not an absence of payment.
